Some Information Before We Get Started
This is a website to provide a brief overview of the facts, the misunderstandings, and the prejudices surrounding AIDS. This includes many good links to more in-depth materials. This is not a site meant to be offensive to anyone, it is simply here to provide facts and opinions, some of which are mine, and some of which are others. Do you know anyone who has AIDS? If so then you have had to decide how you will act around them, and if you wish to be around them at all. Many of the worst problems surrounding people with AIDS is that they are in many cases blocked out of society. They become the new lepers of the 20th and 21st century. Discrimination and miss-concepts need to be put to rest. You can't get the virus by being friends or even just friendly to a person that has it. There is no reason to stay away from these people, in fact they will need comfort then more than ever. Until the search for a cure becomes a reality we will have to deal with this subject, like it or not. That is why I created this site. To maybe, in my own little way, help people to understand, and then stop some of the bad feelings towards this disease. One major point I want to make is this. AIDS is not God's curse on Homosexuals. To show that point look at the results, AIDS is becoming less of a "gay problem" day by day. So.... now dive into the site. There is a lot of information in here, and plenty of links. They will be updated once in a while so check back.
To Clarify...
AIDS, and the HIV virus, is not a "gay problem." It is something that affects our entire society. The concept that it is something that can only affect homosexual individuals is out of date and impractical. In fact in recent years the number of non-homosexual related AIDS contractions has risen sharply, while AIDS contracted by gay men and women has fallen. It's time we got past the idea of AIDS as a gay disease. The problem is that people have become infested, if you will, with that idea. Even in H.S. text books it says that people who are homosexual are much more likely to contract AIDS. While in some cases this may be true, it is becoming much less common. Any person, gay or straight, should act responsibly no matter what. AIDS would not be a problem if most people did that.
This site is dedicated to those that are afflicted and to those that have died from the AIDS.

As a person who has had several friends that have contracted AIDS, one can feel helpless to help these individuals.  The best thing you can do for these people is to show your love and unconditional support.  This will ease the pain they are already going through.

Is there hope for an AIDS vaccine in the near future?
